Hull #3 is 100 per cent!

A funny thing occurred with our previous FG43 half model – it now graces the wall at Farr Yacht Design in Annapolis, where it arrived 2 months late for our October press conference after being stuck in US customs, just in time for Christmas. We had a new one made with black hull, white deck and cockpit for the recently concluded Helsinki Boat Show, and received tremendous, spontaneous interest in the yacht. The show had almost 90.000 visitors in all, and I was continuously answering questions such as “Is that REALLY the draft of the racing keel?”, “Wow, what’s that beautiful boat?” and “When can we see the first 43 on the water?”. One potential client flew up from Croatia during the Boat Show just to see the yard and the hulls currently in production. We managed to get hull #3 into the assembly hall just in time for this visit – the three yachts look quite imposing side by side. Regarding laminate quality - suffice it to say that internally we call the boat s/y 100 per cent. Hull #1 has also received its metallic black paint job which makes the hull look just that much more lean and aggressive. Unfortunately, not being a native speaker I am running out of superlatives here ;)
